He was predeceased by: his brother Edward "Chip" Hanlon; and his parents, Edward Hanlon and Rita Hanlon (Splane). He is survived by: his wife Suzanne M. Hanlon (Allaire); his sons, Patrick Hanlon (Leigh-Ann) of Laconia, NH, Shane Hanlon (Nicole Vachon Hanlon) of Pittsford, VT and Eran David Hanlon (Chad Basile) of Webster, NY; his sisters, Nancy Lucey (Edward) of Auburn and Mary Hanlon-Stepanski of Blackstone; his sister-in-law Lianne Hanlon of Webster; his grandchildren, Kerrinh, Raynna, Ella and Cedar; and his pet Ben. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
