She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Gerald Sowsy; her parents, Tillie Shapiro Hoffman and Samuel Hoffman; and her brother Myron Hoffman. She is survived by: her children, Gail Katz (Steven), Craig Sowsy (Amy) and Marjorie Boyle (Terry); and her grandchildren, Tracey, Michael Katz, Allison Sowsy Vessella (Joseph), Bradley Sowsy, Colin and Caitlin Boyle. She is also survived by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Shirley's memory to Congregation 420 at 420 Revere Beach Blvd. or Hebrew Senior Life , causes close to her heart.
