He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick McCarthy and Elizabeth McCarthy (Schipani); and his daughter Shavonne McCarthy. He is survived by: his sons, Frederick "Freddy" McCarthy (Kristina) and Joseph T. McCarthy Jr. (Dominique DeLucia) of Revere; his grandchildren, Allysia, Frederick Jr., Derek and Madelyn; and his aunt Marie Borowski (Bruce).
