James R. Nelson Obituary
James R. “Jimma” Nelson, of Revere, formerly of Wolfboro, NH, passed away unexpectedly on April 13th, at 68 years. He is the devoted son of the late Edward C. Nelson, Jr. & Kathryn M. (Barry) Nelson. Beloved brother of Kathryn M. Salt & her husband Pat of Colorado Springs, CO & the late Edward C. “Buddy” Nelson, III. Dear brother-in-law of Janice R. (McDonough) Nelson of Revere. Cherished uncle of Jeff E. Nelson & his wife Eliza of Lynnfield, Jamie K. Nelson & his wife Lauren of Revere, Jennifer L. (Nelson) Ivester & her husband Jake of Wolfeboro, NH, Jonathan J. Nelson & his partner Dr. DaMarcus Bayman of Revere, Ryan Salt & his wife Brittany of Ft. Worth. TX and Brent Salt & his fiancé Stacey Medley of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also lovingly survived by 11 grandnieces, grandnephews, and extended family.
Jimma was genuine in every intention, and epitomized what it meant to be familial, selfless, caring, and thoughtful. Rarely was there an instance where someone who met Jimma left without a lifelong friend. He was a permanent and irreplaceable fixture to so many of his close friend’s families through the best and worst of times. His love of storytelling ranged from youthful adventures with his brother, sister, cousins and friends, to his weekends at the Kennedy Compound, to celebrity getaways in Vegas. To his family, friends, and any person he struck up conversation with - Jimma truly was and always will be an icon and legend of his time.
Celebrations of Life will be hosted in Revere, MA at Casa Lucia, 61 Lucia Ave., on June 10th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and in Wolfboro, NH at Marker 21, 33 Dockside St. on June 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
