She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen McQuaid (Hamm) and John McQuaid; her grandson Graham; her brothers, Hugh and James McQuaid; and her close friend David Barry.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Paige; her husband Leroy Gonnella; her children, Lee Gonnella (Holly) of Ashland, Oregon, Elizabeth Johnson (Bob) of Wake Forest and Jean Gonnella Stern of Mebane; and her granddaughters, Elizabeth Paige and Janna Claire Johnson of Charlotte.
