With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary T. Cummings of Reading, Massachusetts, born in Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 11, 2022 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her spouse Francis J. Cummings; her parents, William Sullivan and Lucy Sullivan (O'Brien); and her brother William. She is survived by: her children, Michael F. Cummings (Catherine) of Marblehead, Paul Cummings (Nancy) of Reading, John P. Cummings (Pamela) of Providence and Nancy Lordan (James) of Reading; her grandchildren, Patrick Cummings (Chelsea) of Portland, Margaret Stratigakis (Peter) of Danvers, John-Michael Cummings of Underwood, Sarah, Brian Cummings of Reading, Jake, Owen, Luke, Isabelle Cummings of Providence, Amy, Kerry and James Lordan of Reading; her great grandchildren, William, Cassidy Cummings, Delia and Briga Stratigakis; her siblings, Margaret McManus of Needham, Leonard, Donald and Richard Sullivan; and her friend Peter O'Reilly of Arlington. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

“A great women with lots of fond memories growing up in "the neighborhood". I loved the Cummings family and they were a big part of my life growing up. Frank and Mary took me in their home while I was in my 20's for awhile when my father retired down the cape and I needed a place to stay. Certainly a very generous thing to do in the small Capes we grew up in! I will always think of them as my backup set of parents who both had hearts of gold.”
