With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald R. Murphy of Reading, Massachusetts, born in Malden, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 20, 2024 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dermid Murphy and Dorothy Murphy (Trickey); and his siblings, Bill Murphy and Jean D. Sullivan. He is survived by: his wife Roberta Murphy (Morris); his children, Michael D. Murphy (Rosemary) of Reading, Scott W. Murphy of Valencia, CA and Robin K. Murphy (Rex Ingram) of Portland, OR.; his grandchildren, Sean, Timothy, Jack, Wyatt, Finn and Rex, Jr.; and his brother Robert M. Murphy (Marion) of Wilmington.
