He was predeceased by: his parents, Verginio "Gene" Rego and Ida Rego (Mello). He is survived by: his wife Cheryl A. Wilkins-Rego (Glavin) of Raynham; his stepchildren, Scott Wilkins of Raynham and Jill Smith (Harvey) of Berkley; his stepgrandchildren, Nathaniel Wilkins, Jeffrey Wilkins, Devin Frizado, Aaron Smith and Carla Smith; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, William Calef and Richie Medeiros.
