He was predeceased by: his parents, William M. Upon and Margaret J. Hinken Upon (Anderson); his son John W Hinken Jr.; and his sister Nancy Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Erika Hinken Born (Schoeler); his son Eric Hinken of Raynham; his grandchildren, Matthew Hinken, Samantha Hinken and David Hinken; and his siblings, Thomas Hinken and William Hinken.
