He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Getek and Josephine Getek (Piecewicz); and his brother Joseph Getek. He is survived by: his wife Helen Getek (Ruggiero); his daughter Denise Getek of Randolph; and his siblings, Anne Kelly of Braintree and Thomas Getek. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
