He was predeceased by: his grandchild Ryan (late Aracely); and his brothers, John and Richard. He is survived by: his wife Mary O'Malley; his children, Patrick O'Malley III (Mary Beth), Michael O'Malley (Karen) and Susan O'Malley (Caron); his grandchildren, Gillian and Conor; and his great grandchild Sean.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's association of Massachusetts.
