Henry Rota Jr. Obituary

Henry Rota Jr. "Rick" passed away peacefully at home September 22, 2023 with family by his side after a long battle with Cancer.

Rick was a lover of anything with a motor, he had a need for speed but was equally happy relaxing with a "Bud Heavy" and cigar. He loved Mother Nature and her creatures, encouraging his daughters to embrace their love of animals and the responsibilities they taught.

He proudly carried on his family's construction and excavation business for over 50 years in Randolph. Everyone that knew him knew he was happiest behind the controls of a CAT excavator.

Rick is the son of the late Henry and Maude Rota, lifelong Randolph residents. Brother of Suzanne Nelson and husband Phil, brother of Marianne Rizzitano and husband Sam, and brother of the late John P. Rota. Former husband of Suzan Maggs-Rota of Weymouth.

He leaves behind his two beloved daughters Nicolette Rota of Quincy and Michelle Rota of Lakeville. Plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends he adored.

Rick loved to socialize and always looked forward to his visits on the Cape with "Stoney", his cousin John Callahan and wife Janet of South Yarmouth. Whenever you couldn't find Rick, just find Jim Conley his best friend for over 60 years was sure to know where he was! A graveside service will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Randolph on Friday, September 29th at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
