Thomas R. Holmes Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas R. Holmes of Quincy, Massachusetts, born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 30, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Holmes (Ewell) and George J. Holmes; his son Duane C. "Dewey" Holmes; and also, Ellen T. Reade and Charles F. Holmes.
He is survived by: his wife Susan E. Holmes (Pamplin); his grandchildren, Zachary T. Holmes, Nathan T. Holmes and Neely D. Finney-Holmes; his siblings-in-law, Beverly A. Barrett (J. Christopher) and Jane F. Fitzgibbon (late Thomas); his nieces and nephews, Thomas Reade, George Reade, Charles F. Holmes, Jr. and Thomas "T. J." Fitzgibbon; and his daughter-in-law Samantha A. Finney. He is also survived by four siblings.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sweeney Brothers Home For Funerals (1 Independence Ave, Quincy, MA 02169). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Joseph Church (550 Washington St, Quincy, MA 02169).
