It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Benoit of Quincy, Massachusetts, born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Sheedy and Ann Sheedy (Connor) of Milton; her husband John F. Benoit; her children, Christine Getchell (Nicholas) of Hanson, John Benoit of Quincy, Joseph Benoit (Shannon) of Shrewsbury and Michael Benoit (Vanessa) of Easton; her granddaughters, Dorothy Getchell, Ruth Getchell and Marilyn Benoit; and her siblings, Margaret Sheedy of Milton, Anne Marie Lynch (John) of Franklin and James Sheedy (Joanne) of Franklin. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hamel-Lydon Chapel (650 Hancock St, Quincy, MA 02170). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Ann's Church (757 Hancock St, Quincy, MA 02170).
