She was predeceased by: her parents, Neil Gillis and Agnes Gillis (McPherson); her husband Robert Joseph MacVarish; her brothers, Duncan Gillis, Donald Gillis and David Gillis; and her pet Brody.

She is survived by: her children, Andrea M. MacVarish of Braintree and Robert C. MacVarish (Kathy) of Hanover; her siblings, Margaret MacDougall, Marie MacDonald and Alexander Gillis; and her sisters-in-law, Kay Accardi and Mary Berlo. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
