She was predeceased by: her parents, John O'Neill and Mary O'Neill; and her sister Anna. She is survived by: her children, Eileen Mavilia of Randolph, John Alves (Laura) of Quincy, Joseph Alves of Randolph, James Alves of Braintree, Michael Alves of Dorchester and Daniel Alves of Braintree; and her siblings, Kathleen McGinn of Quincy, Eugene and John. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Irene may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
