He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Louise (McLaughlin) and Edward J. "Mickey" Hartnett, Jr. (Raised); his wife Marie Hartnett (Keefe); his brother John Hartnett; and his sister-in-law Elaine Cochrane (late Edward).
He is survived by: his children, Edward J. "E. J." Hartnett IV, Dawn M. Kelly (Robert) of East Bridgewater and Gregg T. Hartnett; his grandchildren, Haley Hartnett, David Leuchte, Edward J. "Joe" Hartnett V, Nicole Hartnett, Scott O'Brien (Nichole), Maxwell, Matthew Kelly, Chloe Kelly and Jason Kelly; his great grandchildren, Lena, Remi, Gracie and Ella; his siblings, Maureen Mulhern (late Jack) of Wakefield, Michael Hartnett (Ann) of Somerville, Eunice Feliciano (Dominque Derenne) of Weymouth, Ann Arria (Charles) of North Reading and Dorothy Randall of Everett; and his sibling-in-law Thomas P. Keefe (Arlan) of Niantic, Conn.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sweeney Brothers Home For Funerals (1 Independence Ave, Quincy, MA 02169). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Divine Mercy Parish in Saint Mary's Church (95 Crescent St, Quincy, MA 02169). The military honors will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
