It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond R. Chaves of Plympton, Massachusetts, born in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 10, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose S. Chaves and Maria Chaves (Sousa Moura); his son Joseph L. Chaves; and his siblings, Grace Sousa, Alice Braun, Dorothy Chaves, Arthur Chaves, Hilda Chaves and Barbara Tompkins.
He is survived by: his son Joe; his grandson Ray; his wife Helen Chaves (Daniels); his children, Susan Kaye of Kingston, Gregory Chaves of Plympton and Elizabeth Williams (Greg) of Plympton; his daughter-in-law Mary-Ellen Chaves of Kingston; his sisters, Dorothy Caramanica (Chaves) of Bridgewater and Joyce Gillen (Denis) of Safety Harbor, FL.; his grandchildren, Michelle, Erika, Kathleen, Brian, Erin, Sarah, Caitlin, Emily, Olivia, Colin and Danielle; and his great grandchildren, Liam, Natalie, Amelia, Ella, Cameron, Wesley and Owen.
Before the Covid pandemic in 2020, he could be found every Saturday afternoon for decades down the club playing cards with his friends.
