He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Joseph Murphy, Sr. and Francis Downey Murphy; his brother Robert Murphy; and his stepfather James E. Twohig. He is survived by: his wife Linda Cheryl (Carapezza); his children, Jennifer Murphy, Michelle Murphy, Courtney Richardson (Ben) and James Murphy (Sonya); his grandchildren, Winter, Sedona, Taylor, Cooper, Madilyn, Peregrine, Aedan, Dylan and Caelyn; his sister Ann Malbon (Lee); and his siblings-in-law, Joanne Caruso, Deby Gervais (Rick) and Leonard Carapezza (Nancy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
