He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara Elaine and Allen Burgess; and his sister Donna Hamblin. He is survived by: his siblings, Sharon Burgess (Andrew Grignon) of Kingston, Gary Burgess of Plymouth and Lynn Cederquist (David) of Kingston; his brother-in-law Sonny Hamblin; and his nieces and nephews, Kelli Burgess, Leif Burgess, Briona Keller of Kingston, Jamie Hamblin, Chrystopher Hamblin, Brendan Hamblin-Jeddry, Karen Palmer, Richie, Lainie, Sophie, Wyatt Palmer of Buzzards Bay, Tiffany, Eric Wuestefeld, Nathyn Labbe of Plymouth, Jake and Aubrey Fontaine of Pembroke.
