He was predeceased by: his siblings, Walter Jr., Robert, Edward, Dorothy, Barbara and Janice; and his parents, Walter O'Brien and Josephine O'Brien (Webster).

He is survived by: his wife Johanna O'Brien (Sherman); his children, Geralynn Sullivan (Mark) of Kingston, Kenneth O'Brien (Lisa) of Plymouth, Judith Flynn (Michael) of Marstons Mills and Lynda O'Brien of Sagamore Beach; his grandchildren, Robert, Ross, Brian, Marena, Amanda and Callie; and his great grandchildren, Grace and Robert.
