He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry J. Sawyer Sr. and Edna Marshall; his wife Christine Sawyer; his daughters, Patricia M. Blackmon and Maryellen Miller; his grandsons, Matthew C. Blackmon, Nicholas G. Blackmon and Justin J. Breton; his great grandchildren, Jace E. Blackmon and Grey D. Blackmon; and his siblings, Harry J. Sawyer Jr. (Jeanne) and Ruth Perkins.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in David's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or any other veterans' organization.
