He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Smith (McCready); his parents, Raymond Smith and Stella Smith (Hinton); and his siblings, Margaret Sullivan, Raymond Smith, Jr., David Smith, Robert Smith, Joseph Patrick Smith, James Smith and Joan Smith.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Michael Rafuse (Sharon), Brian Rafuse (Crystal), Emily Moran and Kate Duggan; his grandchildren, Daniel and Catherine; and his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Travers. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
