He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles A. Bastow, Sr. and Margaret Mispel Shepardson Bastow; his siblings, Charles A. Bastow, Robert, Hugh, Ken Shepardson, Lorraine McCredie, Grace Harrison, Jane Fabrizi, Gladys Beck and Oyma Elbourn; and his daughter-in-law Sherald "Sherri" A. Bastow.
He is survived by: his wife Mary K. Burke; his children, Sherman E. "Skip" Bastow, Jr. of Pittsfield, Robert R. Bastow (Tammy) of Pittsfield, Deborah Caparrelli of Pittsfield, Elizabeth "Betsy" May (Steve) of East Bridgewater, MA and Katherine Burr (Jim) of Lanesboro; his grandchildren, Philip Bastow (Leia), Brian Bastow (Michele), Joseph Bastow (Amy), David Caparrelli (Justin), Nicole May, Steven May, Emily Burr, Hannah Burr Torchia (Francesco) and Alex Bastow; his great grandchildren, Harper Grace, Henry and June Bastow; his sister June Reid of Chesapeake City; his sister-in-law Kaoru "Carol" Bastow of Pittsfield; and his friend Tommy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Operation Smile or to Doctors Without Borders, both in care of the funeral home.
