Bates; his children, Carrie Clayton (Neale) of Pittsfield, Tammie Fitch of Pittsfield and Shaun Wheat (Jen) of Arlington, VA; his grandchildren, Kayla, Katie Karlson, Mitchell Clayton, Bradley Wheat (Andrea), Macie, Marlie Fitch and Emma Wheat; his great grandchildren, Kamren, Hannah Boino, Haylee Donnelly, Madilynn Breault and Cole Vallone; and his brothers, James Wheat (Jill) of New Hampshire, John Wheat (Shirley) of Arizona and William Wheat of Pittsfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
