She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Llewellyn and Mary Jane Rapp Sherman; and her husband John Joseph Kowach. She is survived by: her daughter Juli Anne Kowach Atwood; her grandchildren, Hunter James Schweizer and Angelita Maria Portillo; her siblings, Larry Lee Sherman of Mississippi, Chester Llewellyn Sherman of New York, Linda Lou Kovach of Pennsylvania, Laura Louise Baumbach of New York and Diana Lynne Mulholland of Virginia; and her son-in-law Christopher Atwood (Robert L. Lawrence).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lou Ellen's memory can be made to Allendale Elementary School or the Pittsfield Council on Aging, in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
