He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Colwell and Catherine Colwell (Carty); and his foster daughter Michelle. He is survived by: his wife Dolores; his children, Mary (Charlene) of Williamsburg, MA, Paul of Ballston Spa, NY, Denise of Springfield, VA, Dorene DiTomasso (Paul) of Chester, VA, Kevin (Peggy) of Mechanicsville, VA, John Junior of Charlotte, NC. and Danny; and his brother Arthur Colwell of Danvers, MA.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.
