With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jeanette K. Alston of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 23, 2025 at the age of 87. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Jeanette had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Jeanette may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her daughter Julie. She is survived by: her children, Christopher Alston of Lanesborough, Antoine Alston of Springfield, Tonya Veazey (Tamiko) of Smyrna, Tenn, Sonya Alston of Alba, Ala. and Melinda Alston of Pittsfield; and her sister Lula Atwater Johnson of North Carolina. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, two great grand-children.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dery Funeral Home (54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
