James Perby Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Perby (Pittsfield, Massachusetts), who passed away on May 30, 2020 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father George Perby. He is survived by: his mother Margaret June Brown Perby; his sister Ruth Cardace of Valley Stream, NY; his niece Jill Cardace Eayres; his nephew Christopher Cardace (Adrianna); his great-nieces, Zoe Eayres and Lucia Cardace; his great-nephew Logan Eayres; and his former wife Vicky Leighton Perby of Pittsfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Soldier On, through the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, which has been entrusted with his care.

“I just found out my great friend Jim passed away today on July 4.. as a former employee Of soldier on it’s very difficult to stay in touch so it’s extra challenging when these tragedies happen.. Jim was one of the most loyal men I’ve ever met and although he could be ornery, he had a tremendous heart.. he cared about how other vets were treated and when I lost my wife to suicide, he asked about my children every single day..
