She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Kern and Patricia Tracy Kern; her husband Robert Hover; and her son Ian Welch. She is survived by: her children, Frank Alfonso Jr. (Sarah) of Dalton, Adam J. Alfonso of Pittsfield and Kristalyn S. Alfonso of Pittsfield; her siblings, Arthur Kern (Patricia), Eric Kern (Mary-Catherine) and Tracy Parise (Eric); and her friends, Susan Sawler of New Jersey and Patrick Bashara of Pittsfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter or Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in her memory in care of the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home, 220 East Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Donations CANNOT be made online, but may be made through the Dwyer-Wellington Funeral Home.
