He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Nichols and Alice Pharmer Nichols; his wife Eileen "Pat" Mehos; and his siblings, Francis, William, Harry Jr., Robert, Raymond, Charles Nichols and Marion Reed.
He is survived by: his children, Arthur J. Nichols, Jr. (Corinne), Joseph C. Nichols (Nancy), Shaun J Nichols, Maris Nichols, Maureen A. Nichols and Marie A. Nichols; his grandchildren, Maya Kraushaar, Kristal Nichols, Alaura "Paige", Kiliegh McGann and Joseph E Nichols; his great grandchildren, Elaisah Nichols, Skye McGann, Tobias Arthur Kraushaar and Phoebe Kraushaar; and his sister Dorothy Demick.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
