He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Cotter and June Cotter (Daly); his daughter Mary Caitlin; and his brothers, Edward J. "Ted" Cotter (Nancy) of Weymouth and William F. "Bill" Cotter (Eileen) of Dorchester.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Cotter (Mulkern); his children, John (Kate) of Scituate, Patrick of Rockland, Meaghan (Bob) of Weymouth and Christine (Ethan) of Weymouth; his grandchildren, Jack, Logan, Finn, Patrick, Lucas, Olivia, Rory and Delia; and his siblings, Kevin L. Cotter (late Elizabeth) of Quincy and June M. Lanctot (Peter) of Foxboro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
