He was predeceased by: his siblings, Marie Donovan, Ruth Thomas, Helen Putney, Sebastian Howell, Louis Howell, Thomas Howell, Michael Howell, Fredrick Howell and Jack Howell.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Howell of Wakefield; his children, Nancy Howell of Wakefield and William E. Howell Jr. of Saugus; and his friend Bill. He is also survived by nieces & nephews.
