Melvin Babner Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melvin Babner of Peabody, Massachusetts, born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 14, 2025 at the age of 95. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Babner and Ida Babner (Goren); and his siblings, Irving Babner, Esther Winer and Gladys Katcher.

He is survived by: his wife Ethel; his daughters, Linda Needel (Stu) of Belcamp, MD, Jane Torff (Larry) and Judy Kemp (Steve) of Peabody; and his grandchildren, Philip McCauley, Stacey McCauley, Steven Torff, Matthew Torff, Hannah Kemp and Benjamin Kemp. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Temple Ner Tamid (368 Lowell St, Peabody, MA 01960). A reception was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM and on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
