He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bird and Ida Bird (Slater); and his wife Evelyn (Spooner). He is survived by: his children, Robert Bird (Julia) of Wales, Janet Bird (Richard Bushey) of Cabot, Richard Bird (Wilma) of Hampden and Nancy Roy (Daniel) of Palmer. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
