He was predeceased by: his son Paul Matthew McGrath; and his parents, Matthew Richard and Margaret McGrath (McDonald). He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Sheehy; his children, Troy Michael McGrath (Sherrie) and Erin Jean Burdick (Brett); his grandchildren, Ryan Paul McGrath, Tyler, Hannah Burdick, Madison and Nolan McGrath; his great grandchild Emersyn Rae McGrath; his sisters, Jackie, Peggy, Kitty, Ellen and Donna; and his friend Irish.
