With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Helen Mary Thornton of Norwood, Massachusetts, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Helen left this world on January 20, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John Thornton; her sister Maureen Higgins; and her parents, James Gavaghan and Barbara Gavaghan (Flaherty). She is survived by: her children, John E. Thornton (Kate) of Westwood and Judith A. Lydon (Paul) of Norwood; her siblings, Nancy Archer of Dedham, Lena O'Carroll of Ireland and Patrick Gavaghan of England; and her grandchildren, Kerry, Joseph, Katie and Erin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home (1248 Washington St, Norwood, MA 02062). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Funeral Home Saturday. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:55 AM at the Saint Catherine of Siena Church (547 Washington St, Norwood, MA 02062).
