He was predeceased by: his parents, William Garrels and Henrietta Garrels; and his siblings, Larry Garrels and Donna Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Lois A. Garrels (Altobello); his children, Allen D. Garrels, Jr. (Paula) of Brockton, Scott Garrels (Stacie) of Stoughton, Michael Garrels of Franklin and Glenn Garrels of Lynwood, NJ.; his sister Lavonne Boege; and his grandchildren, Eric, Andrew, Neala, Stephen, James, Leah, Emily and Jake Garrels.
