Patricia Blake Stimson Obituary
Patricia Blake Stimson passed away in the early hours of Friday, February 18 2022 at the age of 88. She died peacefully at her home in Norwell, MA, surrounded by loved ones.
Patricia (better known as Pat, or 'Aunt Patsy' to many) was born to Malcolm and Constance Bailey Blake on August 11, 1933 in Scituate, MA. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Blake Erdogan and brother James Blake. She graduated from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT in 1955 and in 1957 married her college sweetheart, Dwight Sidney Stimson Jr. (d. 2012). Pat and Dwight relocated with Dwight's career to quite a few interesting locales before settling at the family home in Baileywick, Norwell, MA. In 1985 she and Dwight established HOSTAR Marine Transport Systems, based in Wareham, MA, where she grew to love her customers and treat them like an extended family.
Pat and Dwight are survived by their three children Malcolm Blake Stimson (Elise Archias), Shelby Stimson Johansson (Brian), and Dwight Sidney Stimson III (Patricia), their six grandchildren (Meghan, Jennifer, Elissa, Sophie, Sydney and Stephen) and five great-grandchildren. They are also survived by their exchange student daughter Virginia Thomas as well as their beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, with whom they were very close. She also held her alumni (Mid Mama) friends and Miami friends near and dear to her heart.
Pat was a force of nature who made a significant impression on everyone she met. Passionate, outspoken, clever and witty, as well as a New York Times crossword puzzle and Scrabble aficionado, she will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A memorial service is planned for mid June.
