With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John F. O'Connell Jr. of Norton, Massachusetts, born in South Boston, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 28, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. O'Connell and Marie O'Connell (Blanchard); and his siblings, Helen O'Connell of Braintree, Catherine Healey of Braintree, Rita Knecht, Michael O'Connell, Eileen Nolet and Norman O'Connell.
He is survived by: his spouse Gerry O'Connell (Barnes); his daughters, Debbie of Norton, MA. and Lynda O'Connell of Norton, MA.; and his siblings, Marie King of Norton, Lorraine Peacock of Providence, RI, Deanna Hilliard of Braintree, Alice Kelly of Braintree and Lawrence O'Connell of Taunton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home (19 Clapp St, Norton, MA 02766). The military honors was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108 or to a local animal shelter of one's choice.
