It is with profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Dale O'Gorman, born in Burlington, Vermont, who left us 11 days before his 42nd birthday. Michael was born with a beautiful spirit and a caring heart, qualities that left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Michael is survived by his loving grandmother, Muriel O'Gorman, his devoted mother, Tina Dumais, and his beloved brother, Joshua Dover. He also leaves behind his cherished aunts and uncles. Michael had a rare gift for music which he nurtured into extraordinary talent. As a self-taught guitarist, singer, and songwriter, music was more than a passion for him; it was a profound form of expression, a divine gift from God. But Michael's brilliance was not limited to music; he possessed a vast knowledge of various subjects. His insights into the Bible and his encyclopedic knowledge of music history, including the intricate details of bands and their influences, showcased his remarkable intellect and curiosity.
Michael spent around 15 years in San Diego and started the band On a Wing before finally returning to Massachusetts, where he worked at Riverdale Mill. There, he was surrounded by a wonderful group of people who admired and loved him dearly.
We have lost a beautiful soul, but heaven has gained our archangel, Michael. His memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
