She was predeceased by: her husband Sharad Y. Shastri; and her mother Sundari Shastri. She is survived by: her father Krishan Shastri; her daughter Shyla Shastry; her granddaughter Sahana Sullivan; her brother Ravi Shastri; her sister-in-law Malathi Shastri; and her nieces and nephews, Mahadev and Revathi Shastri.
