He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. McCarthy and Ellen McCarthy (Bjorn). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy M. McCarthy (Dunphy); his children, Maryellen Geurtsen (Peter) of Holliston, John L. McCarthy (Shannon) of Mendon, Paul B. McCarthy (Nicole) of Surprise, AZ and Erin E. Acker (Thomas) of Upton; his grandchildren, Kathryn Gifford, Jennifer Rogers, Julie Lesbirel, Michael Noonan, Megan, Ryan, John, Molly, Matthew McCarthy, Joseph and Carolyn Acker; and his great grandchildren, Victoria Gifford and Joseph Lesbirel.
