He was predeceased by: his parent James Purpura of Quincy; his spouse Mary K. Purpura; and also Frank J. Purpura Jr.. He is survived by: his parent Mary Purpura of Quincy; his children, Catherine Harrington of Weymouth and Husband Robert of Weymouth; his significant other Daniel Geagan of Rockland; his siblings, Mary Rossi and John Purpura of Quincy; and also, Linda Purpura and Companion Frances Mazzeo of Raynham. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to V.A. Hospital, 940 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
