He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael McCarthy and Margaret McCarthy; and his siblings, Jerry, Paddy and Michael McCarthy.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann McCarthy; his children, Fiona Maxwell (Craig), Paul McCarthy (Sherri Ohlson), Julie Shomos (Ted) of Middleton and Bernadette DeStefano (David); his siblings, Mary Tannian, Margaret Dwyer (Vinny), Kate Bradfield (Oliver) of England, John McCarthy of Ireland, Christy McCarthy (Mary) of England, Helen Connolly (Jerry) of Ireland, Bernie Lyons of Ireland and Bridget McCarthy (Oliver) of Ireland; and his grandchildren, Eimile, Owen, Grace, Andrew, Avery and Abi. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.
