She is survived by: her child Bernard F. Doherty (Barney); her wife Xiao Doherty of Wilbraham; her grandchildren, Carrie Ann Doherty of Tewksbury, Emily Zheng of Wilbraham and Brianna Elizabeth Sayers of Marshfield; her siblings, Thomas Kelly and Robert Kelly; her siblings-in-law, Dorothy, William, Mary Doherty of Squantum, Lorraine Doherty, John, Ann Doherty, Edward Doherty and Sally D'Entremont; and her parent Mary Kelly (Furlong). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Virginia may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock St., Quincy, MA 02171.
