He was predeceased by: his spouse Aldona M. Schmidt Born (Kemzura); his mother Anna I. Schmidt Hans (Karstrom); and his brother Carl Schmidt. He is survived by: his sons, Paul A. Schmidt (Christine) of Bristol and Erik H. Schmidt of North Easton; and his brothers, Evert Schmidt of Warwick and Walter Schmidt of North Scituate. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
