He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph W. Sr. Potter and Virginia Potter (Higgins). He is survived by: his wife Karin Potter (Rose); his sons, Ralph W. Potter III of Dighton and Jeffrey E. Potter (Amy) of Dighton; his grandchildren, Delaney and William; and his siblings, Virginia Latham (Russell) of Rehoboth, Sandra O'Connor (Roger) of Norton and Thomas Potter (Michelle) of West Island. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimers Association.
