She was predeceased by: her spouse Gil S. DeMelo of Anne's Hospital; her parents, Dorvalino Carvalho Tavares and Maria Da Estrela Amaral; and her sibling Verginio Carvalho. She is survived by: her children, Jose Melo of Acushnet, Noemia DeMelo Benavides (Carlos), David (Cidalia) of Melo, Ana Resendes (Manuel) of Dartmouth, Nelia Silva (Valdemiro) of Dartmouth, Lucia Raposo (Antonio) of Dartmouth and Tiberio T. Melo (Frances) of Fall River; and her siblings, Salome Carvalho (late Ernesto Borges Cabral), Almedina Condinho (late Luis) and Tiberio Tavares (late Natalia). She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Silva-Faria Funeral Home (730 Bedford St, Fall River, MA 02720). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Church (48 16th St, Fall River, MA 02723).
