He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah M. Devaney (Gorman); his parents, James Devaney and Esther Devaney (Carroll); and his siblings, Dorothy Devaney, James Devaney and John "Jack" Devaney.
He is survived by: his children, Maura (Edmund Duah-Asamoah), Robert E. (Kimberly Devaney), Richard J. (Lara Devaney) and Michael J. (Kathy Devaney); his grandchildren, Christine, Mary, Carolyn, Robert, Thomas, Katherine, Matthew, Christopher and Aislin Devaney; his stepgrandchildren, Leandra, Spencer, Kaden and Makenzie; and his great grandchildren, Emerson and Madison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in his name to The Chelmsford High School Alumni Association DEVANEY FAMILY Scholarship.
